The GreaseBox first was invented by Jason Wellman in 2005 on special request from a Five Guys Burgers and Fries Franchise in Eastern PA. The location where the system was first tested had been undergoing many different attempts to solve the grease problem on their roof. After several attempts of all of the products on the market, none could hold or capture the amount of grease this location produced.
The first system (The GreaseBox, Original) was able to capture and hold over 20 pounds of grease that was produced in a 2 week time frame. The next system to be tested was the GreaseBox, X-Treme, and this system was able to capture over 44 pounds of grease in a 4 week time frame.
From that time on Jason Wellman tested his invention on many different applications and locations. This is what brought on the invention of the GreaseBox, Jr. system which is designed for low clearance Exhaust system and low volume grease producing fans.
In July of 2009 Jason Wellman took his products National after receiving his patents and official business name. With his initial product launch at an I.K.E.C.A. meeting in November of 2009, the response was great. Receiving distributors all across the Globe!
In 2010 the GreaseBox was asked to design a system that could contain and capture 120lbs of absorbed grease in a 4 week time frame. As with every other challenge we have received, the GreaseBox succeeded with flying colors by introducing the GreaseBox, Ultra to the market and being able to capture 120lbs of absorbed grease and 4 gallons of liquid grease, while staying 100% weather and wind proof!
